Blogathon 2007
You may have noticed the Sponsor this Blog button on the right side of my blog. Well, I am participating in Blogathon 2007 to raise money for DonorsChoose.
What is DonorsChoose? It’s a not-for-profit (meaning they do it because they want to, not because they make money to) organization that helps provide schools and students with materials that they are lacking. These materials- books, computer equipment, or even paper- help students acheive the high standards that we, their teachers, have set. They also help us keep students interested in education by giving them access to things that they may not see otherwise. As a teacher, I can tell you that when schools lack the basic materials studetns need to learn, all of society suffers.
What is a Blogathon?
It is like a marathon with out the running. Think Walk America. I along with many others (see other CHBM’s who are blogging) will be blogging for 24 hours straight. We will post at least 1 post every 30 minutes on whatever we want. The Blogathon starts on July 28 at 6:00 AM PST (Schedule A) or at 9:00 PM PST (Schedule B).
How Can I Sponsor Mom on the Rise?
Easily! Just click on the button on the right. You have to sign up, but it’s free and no one will bother you except to tell remind you to donate your pledged amount at the end of the Blogathon. You submit your money directly to the organization. When you submit, please be sure to mention the Blogathon and that you sponsored me, Kristina Brooke at Mom on the Rise.
