The Week from Down Below
I am exhausted, and quite frankly, I’m in desperate need of a vacation. All of last week and yesterday and today, I have been fighting the flu. And not just any old flu- this was the deep-down-in-the-bones, rip-your-chest-out, my-ears-are-so-clogged-that-I-can’t-hear-my-own-thoughts kind of flu. My ears are so clogged and when I went to the Minute Clinic, the nurse Practitioner said that my ears were to clogged with wax to get a good look at my eardrums. I don’t know how to clean out my ears because touching them hurts so badly. I am going to put olive oil in them tonight. My mom use to do this to us when my sister and I were kids and it apparently kept us from getting wax build-up.
Anyway, we had Professional Development today at work, and I am so happy it is over. Not because it was boring, but because a colleague and I spent almost 59 hours (I’m not exggerating) spear-heading the events of today. It started with me setting up an online sign-up form for the staff/ Staff member could go online and choose which workshops they wanted to attend during the four sessions. In fact, we even allowed them to sign-up for their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choices. SOunds easy, right?
WRONG!!!!!!!!!
Between the incompetent AP’s, the absent-minded teachers, and the fact that I have the flu, this was a unbelievably horrible week. I am so tired and after having to bite another teacher’s head off yesterday, I am ready for a vacation. I did get recognition for my hard work- a certificate and flowers.
So, that is my week. And it’s only Tuesday.

Were they pretty flowers? Just teasin’ babe. Hope you’re feeling better soon. Between the wax and the psoriasis creeping into my ears, I’m pretty much deaf right now.
