Recovery is not Just for Addicts

December 26th, 2006 | No Comments | Posted in General

…it’s for mommies too. I am so exhausted after the Christmas weekend. While it is nice to be with family (although I see them EVERYDAY), next year I think we will be going away. It is the only way that Mr. Mancub, Mimi, and I can get some rest. We began the weekend at my in-laws. With my father-in-law home finally from the hospital, my MIL decided that she was going to cook for the immediate family. That was no small feat as the immediate family includes 3 children and their spouses, 3 teenagers, 1 toddler, and 1 teething infant (Mimi). We go to their house at 9:00 in the morning so that Mr. Mancub could drive his mom to dialysis. I cleaned their house because it looked like a tornando hit. Then I wrapped gifts and did laundry. By the time everyone else arrived, both me and hubby were exhausted and MiMi was asleep. We were supposed to eat at 4:00 but my MIL did not come right home opting to go somewhere with the Bitchster-in-Law. When they finally got home it was 4:00 and they had to cook. Let’s just say that it was 8:30 pm before we ate and almost 10:30 before we opened gifts…LONG DAY. Santa was great to Mimi over there. She got a lot of toys and a lot of clothes. I got some clothes, a bunch of snow globes (I collect them) and two gifts from Barnes and Noble. Mr. Mancub got some clothes, a ton of lighthouse stuff (he collects them), money and more.

We rushed out of there and Mr. Mancub and I got into a HUGE fight- partly because he was being an ass and partly because we were tired. Once we got home I tried to pump, but I was so tired that I could barely hold my head up.
