Despite the gibberish that you read here on my blog- the post with the numerous grammar and spelling mistakes- I am actually a writer. Yep. I write plays, short stories, erotica, poetry and more. I have not been writing much since before getting pregnant. Part of the problem is lack of time, energy, and ideas. The other part is almost wholly that I don’t have anywhere to actually write. Nope, no desk. Now “spare-oom”. Nothing.
But the more I look at my daughter, the more I realize that I want her to know the writer side of me. I want her to know that she comes from an imaginative person who has a flare for words. I think of writing as an experiment. It is my own personal study of how human beings deal with life. And for every experiment you need Lab Furniture. I spent some time building my ideal work bench and I am impressed. Click the picture to see it up close. There is a peg board for posting notes or making a character board. My computer monitor would be perched on a swivel-arm so that I can use it easily and it is out of the way when I don’t need it. There are two drawers for various tools and a file drawer for keeping track of assignments, chapter, etc. And that’s it. The actual desktop is empty to allow me more room to write by hand (gasp! people still do that?!) or place books for reference. So, what od you think? What would yours look like?
